Introducing Campaigners

Picture
Campaigners is a youth organisation with a proven record of achievement in Christian youth work. Campaigners provides young people of all ages (4-18 plus) with a weekly action packed, fast moving programme specifically to meet their physical, mental and spiritual development. Founded in 1922, the organisation has fulfilled an evangelical ministry among thousands of young people in the United Kingdom and beyond.

In 2007 the organisation underwent a major restructuring in the British Isles. Whilst still remaining federated, Campaigners in Scotland, Northern Ireland the England and Wales became financially separate and independent. The aims and objectives have not changed. All Campaigner groups are integrated within local Churches be they Anglican, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Independent, etc.

Campaigners has achieved good quality youth work in a variety of social environments, and is currently operating in inner city, urban, cross cultural, and rural communities.

The movement provides:

  • The discipline, structure and excitement of a modern uniformed youth organisation in an evangelical Christian framework that enables both boys and girls to learn the Christian Gospel and develop a Christian lifestyle not merely 'in the classroom' but as 'Apprentices' in the 'workshop' of relationship building activities.
  • A context for ongoing evangelism and discipleship.
  • A contact with many non-Christian families. More than 65% of membership is from a non Church background.
  • An opportunity for children to progressively build up biblical and general knowledge through a series of projects on a variety of topics which form a structured programme relevant to each age group. Teenage young people have the opportunity to work for the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards.
  • An opportunity for young people to develop a Christian view of life that impacts upon their personal and social attitude and lifestyle.

An Evangelistic Heart

  • Evangelism is at the heart of the Campaigner programme.
  • Campaigners is particularly effective in enabling Churches to reach out to children in the community from families outside of the Church.
  • Campaigners is an excellent 'bridge builder' for evangelism to children and their families within the community.

A youth organisation for today's young people

Many young people are looking for excitement and fulfilment. They are keen to learn new skills, develop their interests, make new friends, and above all enjoy a good time. Campaigners provide young people of all ages with a weekly, action packed, fast moving programme, specifically to meet their physical, mental and spiritual development.

Many thousands of young people are being deprived of hearing and learning of God's love for them. Schools give just a passing reference to the Christian faith, and many homes only mention God in a derogatory sense. This is where Campaigners come in, seeking to give clear Biblical teaching.

Your children in our care

Founded in 1922 by Rev. Colin Kerr, Campaigners is church based and has many members across the United Kingdom. Through the skills and experience of trained leaders who we require to be cleared under the Children's Act, we take an interest in every child. The activities have been carefully prepared for all ages, and the skills, knowledge and discipline help young people to know the value of a good, healthy and active life.

There is always something different and wide-ranging which explore subjects appealing to boys and girls as well as encouraging leadership qualities and team spirit.
