Campaigner Methods

Our Aims apply to all and starts with leaders, and requires each one to profess a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. This is key to the methods of Campaigners. Throughout their Campaigner life, a child will be introduced to four different aspects of teaching:

  • Christian and learning about God
  • Socially and the world around us
  • Physical and fitness
  • Practical in learning new skills

Work starts in Eagles by having a time of fun in learning. Introducing the children to Bibles stories is key at this young age.

The work is developed in Junos following the same teaching themes and building on what is already known. The teaching is explained in a simple way that the Bible stories are a guidance to us all in our lives today.

In the CrossTrax group the work develops into projects, similar to the pattern outlined above and the young people are challenged as to which road their lives are to follow, and the need for repentance and a commitment to Christ are explained.

With Delta the work continues as projects and some groups follow the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, but considerable time is spent on Christian teaching through discussion. They are continually challenged about their commitment and how they are to grow in their Christian faith and lifestyle.

Annual Camps are seen as an important element of our programmes. For all but the Eagles these offer challenging activities and programmes, varying from the physical to mental and, above all, Christian teaching in a family style environment. Leaders have an opportunity to get to know their children and young people in relaxed surroundings and vice versa.

The Biblical basis for children's and youth ministry

Picture
In a world where there is so much negative, sad and tragic news, Campaigners are privileged to share the Good News with children and young people, offering them hope in Jesus.

When many churches have no ministry to children and young people, Campaigners is uncompromising in upholding the vital importance of teaching Biblical truths to them in a relevant and dynamic way.

Campaigners would urge all church leaders to reaffirm their commitment to "tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord".

We invite you to look at two Bible references
that command us to pass on the message to young people.

  • "Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children. and their children to the next generation" Joel 1:3 (NIV)
  • "What we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done " Psalms 78:3-4 (NIV)
